The initial estimate was it would cost $785 million. We of course, know that all such bids are lies. A newly released estimate puts the cost at $1.7 billion. At this point officials pulled the plug.
Good thing, too. Nobody could possibly be foolish enough to believe that 1.7 won`t turn into 2. Glory for politicians. Tax bills for citizens.
