Here's a great quote from the Chicago Sun Times' coverage of the Conrad Black trial:

Attorneys questioned jurors, asking one woman what she'd heard about Canada.

''Not much. Socialist country,'' she said, drawing a laugh from Canadian reporters in the overflow courtroom.

Laughter because that's a preposterous statement or laughter because of discomfort in how we're viewed?
