Screw the Iraqis is what the Democrats must be thinking. Why would any Iraqi cooperate with US troops or the Iraqi government any longer? Once the US leaves, the factions will just go at it. They might as well solely cooperate with their own faction starting now.
This kind of uncertainty can only embolden perpetrators of violence and discourage would be peacemakers.
